Summary

The project was commenced on 15 March 2015 with 8 Experimental study to investigate the effect of heat months duration. The funding for the project was done treatment on mechanical properties of turbine steel has by Renewable Nepal programme with the maximum been carried out. The results obtained is used to define funding of NPR 960,000. The principal applicant for the the required heat treatment conditions after welding project is North Hydro & Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and repair. The long term objective of the project is Turbine Testing Lab is working as partner institution.The installation of welding repair plant at North Hydro & project is aimed towards development of guidelines for Engineering Pvt. Ltd. for maintenance of hydrowelding repair of hydro-turbines manufactured with 13- turbines. The project has also enhanced the material Cr-4-Ni Stainless steel. The project also aims towards testing facility at Turbine Testing Lab, Kathmandu uplifting current trend of welding repair in Nepalese industry and enhance the potential of market research at research institute.Experimental study to study the effect of heat treatment on mechanical properties of turbine steel has been carried out.The results obtained is used to define the required heat treatment condition after welding process.The long term objective of the project is installation of welding repair plant at the North Hydro & Engineering Pvt. Ltd. and repair for maintenance of hydro turbines.This project has also enhanced the material testing facility at the turbine testing lab at Kathmandu university.
